Religious Statues Vandalized At 2 Catholic Churches In South Jersey

VINELAND, NJ (CBS) — Police in Vineland are searching for the suspects who vandalized statues outside two churches overnight.
According to the Vineland Police Department, officers were dispatched to the Sacred Heart Church at 922 E Landis Avenue for reported criminal mischief. An investigation revealed that sometime during the night, the suspects had vandalized several religious statues on church property.
The vandals hacked off the head of a statue of the Virgin Mary. In addition, the vandals also chopped a statue of Joseph in half.

Hunt for vandal who gouged church door

POLICE are appealing for information after the main doors of a church in Henstridge were gouged with a sharp object.

The criminal damage is believed to have taken place on Saturday, January 4, some time after 5.30pm.
PCSO Thelma Mead of Wincanton neighbourhood beat team said: “Scratch marks have appeared on the main oak doors of St Nicholas Church in Henstridge.

MPD searches for Presbyterian Church vandal(s)


The Murray Police Department is searching for a suspect or suspects who vandalized the First Presbyterian Church before stealing money from the building.

According to MPD, officers responded at approximately 6:11 a.m. Tuesday to a reported burglary at the First Presbyterian Church at 1601 Main St. in Murray. Officers discovered that a suspect or suspects went through the building breaking and destroying items after forcibly making entry into the building.
