Editor's note: As you can see from the archives on this blog, there have been many church vandalism cases reported in the news media this year. (Likely, far more have occurred but went unreported, at least in the media.) This (below) is the first report of an FBI investigation. Churches of all kinds have been vandalized, including black churches. What makes this different is that "KKK" appears. The editor is not critical of the FBI's decision to investigate this case and not other cases. The FBI cannot investigate every case and it is understandable that anti-Christian bigotry coupled with racism brings extra weight and may arguably deserve higher priority. We are all made in the image of a loving God. Let us pray that all anti-Christian bigotry will end, regardless of the form that it takes, and particularly when it is coupled with racism. Let us thank Him for being counted worthy to carry the Cross with Him. My prayers go out to the members of these churches as with all whose churches have been vandalized. May the Lord bless them and preserve them from hatred. A Blessed Advent to all. -- Lisa Graas, editor.
An FBI federal hate crime investigation is underway in Crawfordville, Fl., after someone vandalized three predominantly Black churches with Ku Klux Klan markings.
Sunday morning, the letters “KKK” were found painted on the signs of New Bridge Hope Missionary Baptist Church, Pilgrim Rest Primitive Baptist Church and on a truck parked at the Wildwood Country Club, according to The Tallahassee Democrat. Members of a third church, Mount Olive Primitive Baptist Church, found the letters spray painted on their church sign Wednesday night before choir practice.
